Die Ästhetik des Fehlers

This is the book cover for my diploma thesis called »Die Ästhetik des Fehlers — Unregelmäßigkeiten und Störungen als Gestaltungselemente im digitalen Bewegtbild« (»Aesthetics of Error—Irregularities and Disturbances as stylistic devices in digital moving pictures«).
The wiggly lines were created with processing, displayed on the screen and traced with a ball pen to add a human-touch (those »irregularities«…). The bottommost line was completely straight on the screen, but ended up being jagged. I like to think of that as a kind of pulse response of the human hand.
